Allium cepa

Days to Maturity: 100-120 for fully mature bulbs

This onion is a reliable, "sure thing" in your Colorado or Southwestern garden. The diversity of genetics in this seed stock & expert selection makes them resilient to a variety of climatic and soil conditions. Bulbs do not easily rot, staying firm in the ground throughout the whole season so you can pace your harvest. These onions also thrived and produced a high yield despite minimal weeding-- a marvelous feat for onions!

Original landrace seed stock obtained from Joseph Lofthouse in Paradise, UT.

Planting Instructions: In spring & fall, sow onion seeds outdoors 1/4" deep, 2-4" apart and keep moist until germinated. Thin to 8-12" apart. Or start indoors in later winter and transplant outside in spring.

Seed Saving Instructions: Choose plants to allow to flower & seed. Beautiful white umbel seedheads will form. Collect black onion seeds when fully dry and they easily fall into your hand. Store in a cool, dark and dry location in a paper or mesh bag.

Approx 100 Onion Landrace seeds per packet
