Brassica juncea

Days to Maturity: 45

Komatsuna is a Japanese Mustard that tastes and is eaten like spinach. It is mild, tender and crunchy like spinach without the bite and bitterness of typical mustard greens. Try raw on salads, fermented, and cooked in soups and stir-fries. The leaves are a nutritional powerhouse, high in calcium, beta carotene and Vitamin C, K and A!  Plant and harvest in spring and autumn during cooler temperatures. With row cover, cold frame or hoophouse, komatsuna can be grown year-round.

Grown by Groundwork in Paonia, CO.

Planting Instructions: Plant Komatsuna mustard seeds in early spring or late summer/early fall, 1/4-1/2" deep. Thin to 12" apart.

Seed Saving Instructions: Allow vigorous, tasty plants to bolt and go to seed. Collect seed when brown pods easily crumble in your hand. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.

Approx 200 Komatsuna Mustard seeds per packet
