Galina tomato is an early producing cherry tomato with sweet, rich flavor. Originally from Siberia, Galina tomato is adapted to cold weather and a short growing window. Remarkably, it also performs well in hot climates! Abundant, 1 inch, yellow-orange cherry tomatoes on indeterminate vines.

Galina tomato was brought to the US from Siberia in the 1980s by seed steward Bill McDorman! Seeds sourced from Miss Penn's Mountain Seeds. Grown by Groundwork in Paonia, CO.

Planting Instructions: Start Galina Tomato seeds indoors under grow lights or in a greenhouse 6-10 weeks before last frost. Transplant 2+ weeks after last frost when soil has warmed a bit. Space plants at least 4 feet apart. Support growth with tomato cages, a trellis or wire. Water regularly but avoid overwatering (soil should be moist but not wet).

Seed Saving Instructions: When fully ripe, pick your tastiest fruits from the most vigorous plants. Cut open and squeeze Galina Tomato seeds and juice into a jar. Secure a cloth over the jar so air can enter. Ferment the juice and seeds in the jar for 2-3 days. Then strain and rinse the seeds. Dry on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
