Brassica carinata

Days to Maturity: 20 (delicious baby leaves), 60 (maturity), 90 (seed)

It's a giant! Seed heads tower to over 7 feet tall. Delicious, non-bitter leaves retain great, mild flavor throughout the season. Ethiopian Kale seeds can be pressed for cooking oil, which they were traditionally cultivated for. An abundant, versatile food source. This kale is a different species (Brassica carinata) than other kales (Brassica oleracea), allowing you to easily save seed without crossing.

Planting Instructions: Plant Ethiopian Kale seeds in early spring or late summer, 1/2" deep, thin to 12" apart.

Seed Saving Instructions: Seed pods will be brown and crumbly when seed is fully mature. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.

Approx 300 Ethiopian Kale seeds per packet
