Straight from Naples, Italy! We grew these Early Long Violet Italian Eggplant for the first time in 2025 and they were insanely productive! We were so impressed by their productivity and flavor. The sturdy, stocky plants kept producing fruits right up until the fall frost. They have a delicious, mild, buttery flavor that is perfect for all your favorite eggplant recipes. The fruits are long, 9-11". These eggplants performed well in full sun with limited water near Four Corners. You will love them!
Planting Instructions: Start Early Violet Italian Eggplant seeds indoors 4 weeks before last spring frost. Transplant outdoors 2' apart after all danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed a bit. Keep soil moist during the hottest part of the summer.
Seed Saving Instructions: Remove Early Violet Italian Eggplantt seeds from the tastiest, fully mature fruit. Or use a blender with a very low setting-- place fruits with plenty of water and slowly blend. Strain out seeds. Dry seeds on a screen or cloth. Store seeds in a paper or mesh bag in a cool, dark and dry location.
