Orange Coneflower also known as Black Eyed Susan is a perennial native plant that forms dense bunches ranging from 2-4 feet and sport deep green foliage and sturdy stems that support deep yellow-orange flowers that bloom from midsummer all the way through fall.

A good nectar source, Rudbeckia fulgida is frequently visited by butterflies and other pollinating insects. It is native to the eastern Midwest and will hold a wonderful place for pollinators as a mass planting. They make beautiful cut flowers as well.

Recent studies have found that the root of Black Eyed Susan is as effective if not more than Echinacea at stimulating the immune system. Traditionally, the root was also used by the Ojibwa tribe to treat for parasitic worms.
