Cohosh, Black (Cimicifuga racemosa)

Black Cohosh is a member of the Ranunculaceae family and a true showstopper in a medicinal garden. Incredibly beautiful with lovely foliage, this native perennial offers tall forming racemes up to 2 ft long that attract many pollinators, especially bees.

Also known as faerie candles and rattle root, Native Americans traditionally work/ed with the roots and rhizomes of this important healing plant for many ailments including rheumatism and persistent cough.
