Feeding large round bales without a feeder can waste up to 1/3 of the bale as the hay gets pulled off and trampled instead of being eaten. The Big Bale Buddy round bale hay feeder hugs the sides of the bale so that the animals cannot unravel the hay. They must eat from the flat end, and as they eat the bale, the feeder collapses down with it. All the high-nutrition chaff is caught in the feeder for consumption without the risk of sand colic from feeding on the ground. The Big Bale Buddy is also excellent for keeping your hay contained and protected in muddy and windy conditions. The Big Bale Buddy is made from heavy-duty, open-weave polypropylene. The thousands of tiny holes are small enough that rain hitting the sides of the hay feeder will shed off while still allowing the hay to breathe.
